About the ATOM Workshop
The workshop on "Advancing the State of the Art of MIMO: The Key to the Successful Evolution of Wireless Networks" is hosted by the Wireless Communication Centre, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and supported by the EU H2020-MSCA-RISE-2015 ATOM Project 690750. Speakers from the consortium insitututions, namely Lancaster University, University of York, University of Cyprus, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, COMSAT IIT, University of Paradeniya will share with the audience the recent R&D advancement related to the topic of Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technologies.
MIMO technologies have been envisioned as a key to the successful deployment of next generation networks, which are challenged by many practical constraints, such as spectrum scarcity and dynamical wireless environments. The ATOM project will set an ambitious research agenda to fully exploit the potentials of MIMO technologies for revolutionizing wireless networks. Particularly the overall objective of ATOM is to accelerate the transfer and deployment of research knowledge between European countries and third-country partners in order to provide a framework of advanced MIMO solutions for realizing green, secure and high data throughput wireless communications.
